CASTELLO DI VELONA Montalcino

Il Castello di Velona, situato nel cuore del territorio senese, sorge al centro di un ampio anfiteatro collinare che guarda il Monte Amiata. Dal poggio, serrato al piede da un'ansa del fiume Orcia, si domina una vallata ricoperta di boschi, alternati ad oliveti ed a splendidi vigneti, destinati alla produzione di uno dei vini più famosi nel mondo, il Brunello di Montalcino. Gli attuali proprietari, amanti di cibi genuini, offrono ai loro ospiti la possibilità di gustare i piatti tipici della cucina regionale italiana serviti d'estate, nella splendida terrazza, tra ulivi e cipressi, con intorno i ricostruiti giardini all'italiana e, d'inverno, nella sala da pranzo del castello, davanti ad un suggestivo camino acceso. Oggi, il Castello di Velona, mirabilmente ristrutturato dall'architetto Alberto Durante e trasformato in albergo, mantenendo le caratteristiche di un'antica casa di campagna, è un luogo ideale per il relax, per gli amanti dell'arte, nonché per i degustatori di grandi vini. La struttura alberghiera comprende diciotto suites e due camere doppie dotate dei più moderni comforts: piscina esterna riscaldata con idromassaggio, biblioteca, antica cappella restaurata e affrescata, enoteca con una spettacolare sala degustazione.

A 10th century fortress and once the villa of famous Sienese families, the Castello di Velona opened its portals to the public in the year 2001 following a $ 16 million renovation project. History blends with art, viniculture and gastronomy at this intimate luxury hotel and the surrounding countryside. Views from its many windows across a landscape of olive and poplar trees and vineyards which produce the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino and other outstanding wines are often reminded of the Renaissance paintings of Tiepolo and Botticelli. Until four years ago the castle was largely in ruins until its present owners commissioned famed architect Alberto Durante to transform it into a modern hotel preserving its original features, including its imposing XII century watchtower, while providing every comfort for today’s sophisticated traveller. The hotel consists of 18 suites and two double-rooms, all with air-conditioning, mini-bar and safes for valuables. A well-trained staff and concierge cater to every need. Throughout the hotel the walls are of ecru coloured stone with hand-painted trompe l’oeil Greco-Roman borders and flourished. Hand-hewn dark oak beams support ceilings. Each of the 20 accommodations is slightly different from the other, though all have fireplaces and broad views of the Toscan countryside. Other amenities include an outside heated pool with hydro-massage, a library, a frescoed small chapel, wine cellar and a spectacular private tasting room. Interestingly, the castle’s existence appears on old maps painted by Ignazio Danti and preserved in the Vatican Museum, a copy of which is exhibited in the castle’s library. Lovers of fine food will be delighted to taste typical regional Italian cuisine, served in summertime under the olive and cypress trees, and in winter in the astle’s restaurant before the massive roaring log fireplace.

CASTELLO DI TORNANO Gaiole in Chianti

Il Castello di Tornano viene menzionato su alcuni libri di Storia Medievale a partire dall'XI sec. . Si ricordano infatti le gesta di Guarnellotto da Mezzolombardi primo signorotto della fortezza e si narra dell'ostinata resistenza che Guarnellotto seppe imporre all'imperatore Federico Barbarossa. Le camere si distribuiscono tra il castello e la torre. Le suites distribuite tra Castello e Torre, sono tutte arredate con mobili d'epoca; suggestivi sono i bagni con vasche o ampie docce. La romanticità di queste camere viene consacrata dai nomi assegnati, che prendono spunto dall'amore di grandi coppie del passato, dalle gesta di grandi Donne. Le camere sono tutte dotate di arredi d'epoca, tappeti persiani, climatizzatore, tv sat, mini bar, telefono. I bagni sono tutti finemente decorati in marmo. Tuttte le camere beneficiano dell'accesso alla terrazza (solarium) della torre, dove è disponibile una piscina idromassaggio a 5 posti.

CASTELLO ROMITORIO Montalcino

La Tenuta del Castello Romitorio è composta da splendidi casali come Poggio di Sopra, splendido complesso in pietra locale con suggestiva vista sulla Abbazia di Sant'Antimo. Arredato con un elevato standard utilizzando anche pezzi della vecchia tradizione toscana, si presenta negli interni con le tipiche travi ed orditure in legno, pareti in scialbo lavabile e pavimenti in cotto locale, offrendo nell’insieme quella speciale atmosfera propria dei casali toscani. Poggio di Sopra rappresenta un luogo di grande quiete. Si raggiunge da una strada privata che serve solo le poche proprietà della zona. E’ fornito di piscina (3 x 9) che viene regolarmente controllata dal giardiniere, cosi come il giardino prospiciente, il gazebo e gli arredi per la vita all’aperto. Il corpo principale della casa è stato diviso in due appartamenti assai confortevoli, con ingressi completamente indipendenti e posti, per quello a piano terra, in entrambi i lati dell’immobile. Non lontana da esso, una capanna è stata convertita in locale lavanderia/utilità room con lavatrice ed asciugatrice a disposizione degli ospiti. Nell’ultima parte che forma il complesso è stato allestito uno studio-office con soggiorno e caminetto, bagno completo di doccia, dove si può trovare un computer fax e segreteria telefonica. A lato dello stesso è stato splendidamente restaurato il grande forno a legna toscano con loggia, perfettamente funzionante per cuocere pane, pizza, dolci, arrosti “alla vecchia maniera”.

La casa e completamente pavimentata in cotto sul fronte della piscina con una ampia loggia dove si può mangiare all’aperto.

Poggio di Sopra is a beautiful stone farming complex whose conversion and restoration was completed in 1998. Great care was taken to maintain the original structure while providing complete modern comfort, furnished in a high standard with original tuscan pieces, whitewashed and stone walls, terracotta floors and wood beamed ceilings provide the typical tuscan atmosphere. The house is surrounded by about 8.000 sqm of private ground on a wine and olive oil producing estate, sites on a hilltop dominating the wonderful views, spacing over the underlying countryside in direction of the suggestive S. Antimo valley to the west, the Orcia river and the Amiata mountain to the south-east and the Montalcino hill to the north. The house offers a totally quiet holiday location, reached by a road that serves only the few properties of the area. There is a 3 x 9 swimming pool that is carefully tended by a gardener who comes by regularly. The spacious garden area and the gazebo are well kept and equipped with furniture. The main part of the farmhouse was divided into two comfortable apartments that are totally independent with entrances on the two opposite sides. Next to the house there is a barn that has been transformed into a storage and utility room with washing machine and dryer. The last part of the Poggio complex is a studio/office with computer, fax and voice box in a living room with fireplace and complete bathroom with shower. Attached to it there is a covered loggia with a typical well functioning wood burning oven for baking bread and pizza. The house has a paved courtyard in front of the swimming pool with a covered area with tables for eating outside. Parking is on the property grounds near the house.

VILLA LECCETA & CASA VILLA TORRE A CONA San Donato in Collina

Villa Lecceta si trova sulla collina dietro la Villa Torre a Cona, in una splendida posizione panoramica molto tranquilla. Al piano terra si trova la cucina bene attrezzata e dotata di forno, lavatrice e lavastoviglie; la sala con camino, un bagno con doccia e 1 camera matrimoniale. Al primo piano ci sono 3 camere matrimoniali, 2 doppie, un bagno con vasca, uno con doccia e sala con camino. La villa dispone di due giardini ombreggiati e di una grande terrazza panoramica con tavolo sedie e ombrellone. La piscina dell agriturismo è raggiungibile a piedi in cinque minuti attraverso un sentiero. Il piano terra di Villa Lecceta può essere affittato per cene, compleanni, battesimi e in tutte quelle occasioni in cui si desidera un luogo bello ed elegante dove passare una serata speciale.

Villa Lecceta is placed on a hill overlooking the north side of the main Villa of Torre a Cona. The view is beautiful on the surrounding hills as well as on the Valdarno valley and the mountain of Vallombrosa. It consists of two floors. At the ground floor: there are one double room, living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. On the first floor: 3 double rooms, 2 bedrooms with twin beds, 1 bathroom with shower and 1 bathroom with tub. The villa is provided of dishwasher and washing machine, sat TV and big terrace with table for outdoor dining, garden with table, chairs and sunumbrella. For its privacy and charm this villa is the perfect vacation for one or two families or a group of friends. The barn Fonte Lecceta can be rented together with Villa Lecceta adding another 2 beds. The swimming pool, shared with other houses, is within walking distance at 100mt through a path in the fields .
